Information for Employers

Hurworth School is committed to engaging with a variety of employers, employees and the self employed. Every pupil should have multiple opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace. The school works closely with several local employers and also:

The Careers and Enterprise Company
Job Centre Plus

The Careers department is always looking for support with mock interviews, work experience placements and vocational curriculum support.

If you would like to offer your support please contact Penny Hudson.

TECHNICAL AND FURTHER EDUCATION ACT 2017

Under this act we are required to ensure there is an opportunity for a range of education and training providers to access pupils during the relevant phase of their education for the purpose of informing them about approved technical education qualifications or apprenticeships.

Please download the Provider Access Policy for more information.

We are keen to develop links with local employers in order to give our pupils work related learning experience throughout their five years at Longfield.

Each year we hold two World of Work days which give pupils in years 7 to 10 the opportunity to meet employers and discover more about their business and the opportunities that exist, both now and in the future.

Our Careers Convention, held annually in September, is an opportunity for employers to meet pupils individually and discuss any suitable vacancies that may exist

If you or your colleagues would like to support us with this important work, please contact James or Gill.
